This series was pretty funny。 I like how each of the characters' personalities/quirks/issues are reflected in their name。 Like Komi is short for "communication" or Tadano Hitohito just means "ordinary person"。 The scenarios are amusing and the awkwardness kind of relatable? Enjoying this! Cassie,
A very sweet and enjoyable manga that I was able to finish in one sitting
Caitlin,
This was a cute first volume。 I appreciate the featuring of a character with social anxiety and also appreciate the friendships being formed。 I can see the plot getting rather repetitive though。
Bookishrealm,
I’ve been hearing so much about Komi Can’t Communicate and I was definitely excited to read it。 This was a solid read that focuses on Komi who has social anxiety that prevents her from being able to communicate with the rest of class。 Tadano and Komi connect one day during lunch and he vows to help her make 100 friends。 What’s so interesting is that Komi’s classmates are literally obsessed with her。 They believe that she is a “goddess” among normal people。 It’s actually quite funny the way they I’ve been hearing so much about Komi Can’t Communicate and I was definitely excited to read it。 This was a solid read that focuses on Komi who has social anxiety that prevents her from being able to communicate with the rest of class。 Tadano and Komi connect one day during lunch and he vows to help her make 100 friends。 What’s so interesting is that Komi’s classmates are literally obsessed with her。 They believe that she is a “goddess” among normal people。 It’s actually quite funny the way they treat her。 I thought the journey that Komi makes in attempting to make friends was good。 It’s written in a way that the reader is really rooting for her。 What bothered me was the characterization of the 3rd friend Agari who volunteers to be Komi’s dog。 For me I was aggravated that no one challenged that idea。 No one said that being her dog was unnecessary。 I’m hoping that it’s handled in future volumes。 Overall, this wasn’t necessarily my favorite manga but it is one that I’ll keep reading for now。 The art was great and I’m enjoying the development of the friendships that Komi is making。 。。。more

Paris Cunningham,
It took me like half the volume to get into- but then I enjoyed it from then on。 I just felt like literally nothing was happening, but its a bit soon for me to judge so i’ll be carrying on!
Amy N。,
With these covers, and manga being what it is, I was worried that Komi was going to be oversexualized, but pleasant surprise, she wasn't! Kelly,
This series of anime books written by Tomohito Oda is about a young HS student who has social anxiety。 The story does not progress swiftly and there is some innuendo that is included in written and visual material。 However, as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I appreciate this series for adolescents who struggle with this very prevalent experience。 I have no idea how many books are in the series, I have just read this one。 It's a quick read。 This series of anime books written by Tomohito Oda is about a young HS student who has social anxiety。 The story does not progress swiftly and there is some innuendo that is included in written and visual material。 However, as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I appreciate this series for adolescents who struggle with this very prevalent experience。 I have no idea how many books are in the series, I have just read this one。 It's a quick read。 。。。more

The story is 100% RELATABLE to me。 Daily struggles。Being stoic + socially awkward + having resting bitchface is A BIG PROBLEM。

Cute and relatable!
Dana,
This review will be for the whole series! Read at your own risk!!Read 10 volumesI did not expect to LOVE this the way I did!! Komi is a sweet darling girl who can’t bring herself to speak to almost anyone。 But she still has a goal of making 100 friends。 Enter Hitohito Tadano who becomes her friend and helps her with her goal。 I ship them!I love the whole cast they introduced and how they’re all super weird。 It’s funny and yet still heartwarming seeing Komi start to break out of her shell。
Aida,
This is a really heart-warming manga that I really enjoyed, and one that I felt like I could also relate to - wanting to have friends, but lacking social skills to even go up to some people and talk to them is hard, and this manga tries to tackle that issue that Komi has。 She wants to gain 100 friends, but with her social anxiety, how can she do that? Although she's loved by pretty much everyone, some may feel intimidated because of her inability to speak, but Tadano is there to help her get thr This is a really heart-warming manga that I really enjoyed, and one that I felt like I could also relate to - wanting to have friends, but lacking social skills to even go up to some people and talk to them is hard, and this manga tries to tackle that issue that Komi has。 She wants to gain 100 friends, but with her social anxiety, how can she do that? It's worth a read。 。。。more

It is a great manga for the people that can relate to Komi and an enjoyable time for the people that don't!I decided to read Komi after taking a look to the description I think what makes me wanted to keep up with the most is with how much or in some aspects im able to relate with Komi, the scene that I liked the mkst was the board scene (that is show in the cover) it hit me to a level I didnt knew it will。I can see why Komi is so well received even though you don't relate to her you might be ab It is a great manga for the people that can relate to Komi and an enjoyable time for the people that don't!I decided to read Komi after taking a look to the description I think what makes me wanted to keep up with the most is with how much or in some aspects im able to relate with Komi, the scene that I liked the mkst was the board scene (that is show in the cover) it hit me to a level I didnt knew it will。I can see why Komi is so well received even though you don't relate to her you might be able to relate to the others characters that are being introduced along the way or you might just be there to see how everything develops or just want to have a relaxing reading with a few laughs here and there after a tough day。I will suggest you to pick up and give it a read to the first volume of Komi Can't Communicate。The only downside of this story is that is really slow at the development if you are looking for one but is also at the same time one of the charms that it has。 。。。more

This was my first manga in a while and it was good! Reminds me a little of Kimi Ni Todoke because the main characters are shy and have trouble making friends。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I made a goal to try reading manga this year and while the description sounded good I did not like this much at all。 I especially did not like when she started making friends and Agari was like oh no I’m not worthy to be your friend but I’ll be your loyal dog。 Immediately disliked the book at that point but I was already not feeling it prior to that。 Her classmates general attitude toward her I felt was unrealistic and idiotic as they placed her on some untouchable pedestal。 This made no sense w I made a goal to try reading manga this year and while the description sounded good I did not like this much at all。 I especially did not like when she started making friends and Agari was like oh no I’m not worthy to be your friend but I’ll be your loyal dog。 Immediately disliked the book at that point but I was already not feeling it prior to that。 Her classmates general attitude toward her I felt was unrealistic and idiotic as they placed her on some untouchable pedestal。 This made no sense whatsoever as she literally had never talked to anyone as the whole plot is centered on how she has crippling social anxiety。 。。。more
